Eero Paloheimo has worked as a designer, member of parliament and a university professor. He is the author of nine books handling environmental issues and the future and numerous articles in magazines and compilations. The most recent works: Mega Evolution, published in 2002; Structure, published in 2004; This is Africa, published in 2007.

Paloheimo was a designer and owner of the engineering company Eero Paloheimo & Matti Ollila in 1965-1994, a Member of Parliament for the Green Party in 1987-1995, held the presidency of the Parliamentary Committee on the future in 1994-1995, and the professorship of wood construction in Helsinki University of Technology in 1995-2000.

Paloheimo's current projects include the design of Ecocities in different countries, but primarily in China. (see presentation Tianjin, 17.04.2007).

Paloheimo has two doctoral degrees: Doctor Engineer Munich University of Technology, Das Problem der Sicherheit der besonders durch Biegung beanspruchten Spannbetonbrücken and Dr.Sc. (technology) in the Helsinki University of Technology: On the Reliability of Structures and Structural Elements.
