The project comprises a new Ecocity of 17 km2 and 20 000 inhabitants in the Miaofengshan valley in Mentougou, China. The project deliverables were e.g. a regional plan, land use plan, a plan for self-sufficient energy and water supply, a plan for a recycling system, and a traffic plan. In addition, EPECC delivered operational plans, with visual renderings, for nine science and research institutes.

The objective of this project is to create a scheduled implementation plan for the development of the carbon neutral city of Nurmi-Sorila near Tampere. The development’s lifecycle effects on greenhouse gases are studied, calculated and demonstrated. For emissions mitigation, innovations, technical solutions and applications of planning instruments are proposed and presented. The project is done in collaboration with B&M Architects and Planoma Oy.
